I got myself my dream camera
I have not said this much and probably have not said enough of it.
I finally got the camera that I wanted after a (really) long time.
16 of May was the day I realise the Fujifilm X-T50 was out and the only thing that caught my eyes (obviously) was the Fujifilm film preset dial. I think the possibility of customising and creating a set of pre-edits fascinates me. But undeniably scrolling through pictures in Instagram, seeing all the pictures taken with a Fujifilm camera was just exceptional.
There is something about the tone and the colour about those pictures that attracts me and undeniably makes me just want to grab on to a camera and start taking a picture.
I have been a Canon user for perhaps one and a half decade now and I have always wanted to transition myself to using a Fujifilm but could never afford it. (Thank you Australia, your wage and overtime pay have been fantastic.)
It was truly a struggle deciding between the X-T5 and the newly launched X-T50 but I thought fuck it, I’m just gonna buy it! AND I DID. It took about 2-3 weeks before the camera actually arrived and it came right on time, right before my Brisbane trip as I was accompany Syameer and Adeline to Brisbane for their English test. Phew!
It was a pain at first trying to learn how to use, or rather, to familiarise with the dials and the buttons, and where to press and turn etc. I also had to internally dig deep into my head space and ended up using all of my cognitive load to remember what and how shutter speed, aperture and ISO is going to affect my image outcome. Age is catching up, no denying that. It took me, maybe, the whole trip to sort of grasp the wonders of the new camera but I think I’m getting good at it now (I hope).
Just saying, I have mastered the Gen-Z selfie method.
And of course two of the best juniors I have worked with. Always the best times hanging out with you two, Ruo Han & Max.
I will be posting pictures taken with my Fujifilm next!
Cheers.
